Final Medicaid Transformation Project Payment Marks Over $22 Million in Health Transformation Investments in the Olympic Region

Investments in innovative, sustainable, and systemic changes in Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap communities improve health outcomes, patient experience, and reduce the cost of care.

Olympic Community of Health (OCH) is excited to announce the final payment of just over $2 million under the Medicaid Transformation Project 1.0 to local health-serving partners across Clallam, Jefferson, and Kitsap counties. This final payment officially marks the end of the first Medicaid Transformation Project. Over the course of the six-year project, OCH invested over $22 million to support partner-led health transformation efforts.

“A ripple effect is happening in the Olympic region, sparked by collaborative energy and innovative projects. Progress takes time and the collective efforts of individuals, organizations, tribes, and communities coming together is leading to real waves of change” says Miranda Burger, Director of Programs and the lead on this project.

The Medicaid Transformation Project 1.0 (2017-2022) is a Section 1115 Medicaid waiver, which gave Washington the opportunity to implement new services and initiatives to better meet the needs of Medicaid members by investing in innovative, sustainable, and systemic changes to improve health outcomes, patient and client experience, and lower the cost of care. By funding partner-led health transformation work, OCH serves as a seed planter to spark, support, and spread innovation. As the end of this project is now official, OCH extends deep gratitude to the numerous valued partners who dedicate their daily efforts to improving the health of our local communities.

Health transformation is bigger than one organization or tribe, and the impact of OCH is only made possible due to the collaborative efforts of the many partners across the region. We are stronger together.
